Year of the Humanities"Das ABC der Menschheit"

Language is the base for any form of thinking and communication. For the client of the Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung Scholz & Friends developed the award-winning visual concept for the Year of the Humanities under the motto "ABC of Humankind".

The letters symbolize the humanities from A like "Aufklärung / Enlightenment" to Z like "Zukunft / Future". This concept was visible throughout all channels of communication, from print to digital media to spatial installations in public space. For the installations, huge letters were mounted on famous buildings throughout Germany. Only from a certain point of view the letters became visible as a whole. This point of view was marked through a steel-panel describing the related topic of the humanities.

The installations were accompanied throughout the year by different means of communication. Print material as well as digital applications and event design. The tasks also included a complete corporate design and corporate design manual.
